ABOUT US

28 students from Westfield School in Sheffield are going out to Malawi next July with 'Africas gift ' charity to take out life saving equipment and work on local community projects to help improve basic living conditions. Projects like these are key to help ensure that the basic living conditions in Malawi are high enough to help avoid the possibility of outbreaks of diseases such as Ebola that is currently devastating several west African countries. Its hoped that this trip will help forge permanent relationships between Senga school in Malawi and Westfield so the work can continue. Live Aid is highlighting the Ebola problem in a very high profile way but it is grass roots efforts like this that could help prevent these kind of issues in the first place

To fund this they have started the Westfield - Malawi Partnership charity and the students need to raise about £55,000 to enable the trip to go ahead. So far they have held many events from Rock nights with bands performing to race nights to Bag packs etc. They have even had a charity shop unit in Crystal peaks shopping centre. So far they have managed to raise £22500 but there is still a long way to go.

On the 1st June 2015, we raised all money needed in order to travel on the 4th July! Thanks to anyone that helped.
